Bovingdon Airfield Studios (BAS) is delighted to announce that, following the end of ITV Studios' lease on a self-contained group of facilities at the complex, it has taken over the management of the area, adding it to the studio's growing offering and bringing its total number of sound stages up to five. The area, referred to as 'The TV Lot', is now open for the film and television industry to book as a complete self-contained parcel of facilities - comprising Stage E, production offices and ample external space for setup and parking.
It's been wonderful having ITV Studios with us here at Bovingdon, and we thank the whole team, and in particular Jeanette Moffat and Helen Button, for the partnership we've shared with them for the best part of a decade.
We're excited to be taking over the management of this exceptional space ourselves and being able to offer it in its entirety as a single, or as another component of the wider studios offering.
- Harvey Mash, Managing Director of Bovingdon Airfield Studios
At 23,157 sq ft, Stage E features a high 55 ft (16.8 m) ceiling clearance, concrete floor , a high-specification mother truss system and 1.25 MW of on-site power. Adjoining Stage E are 7,500 sq ft of production offices, including hair & make-up, wardrobe, dressing rooms, medical/physio rooms and reception. The area also features 53,500 sq ft of runway and backlot, including 250 reserved parking spaces (with more available on request) and a brand-new 40m x 20m marquee, ideal for audience or extras.
The TV Lot is especially suited to television and light entertainment, including live-audience shows, large-scale crowd basing, band rehearsals and tour testing, as well as being suitable for use for feature films and large-builds. The space has already proven its range, hosting ITV's Dancing on Ice, BBC's The Wheel (with its 360° raised set), Sky's This is Christmas, Amazon's The Power, ITV's Starstruck, and rehearsals for Pulp's 2025 tour.
Bovingdon Airfield Studios
The TV Lot sits within Bovingdon Airfield Studios' wider 100-acre complex, one of the largest and most versatile filming facilities within an hour of central London, offering both premium interior facilities and a vast exterior backlot to support productions of any size, scale and length.
The site now comprises five high-spec sound stages, with over 100,000 sq ft of stage space and 36 to 55 ft height clearance, alongside 60 acres of multisurface grass and hardstanding across seven separate backlot areas (with set-build planning permission on all hardstanding), three runways, 12 workshops, and six production office buildings including a purpose-built hair & make-up block, plus on-site catering and abundant parking. With easy access from the M25, M1 and M40, and surrounded by green open space and wildlife, this family-run, independent studio is suited to HETV, feature film, commercials, primetime TV shows with live audiences, music videos, and band rehearsals and tour testing.
Sustainability is a core value: the sound stages hold an EPC A rating and run on 100% renewable energy, and the studio is working towards the Albert Studio Sustainability Standard and Net Zero. Recent credits include The Conjuring: Last Rites, Warfare, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Deadpool & Wolverine, Masters of the Air, Spectre, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, several Fast & Furious films and 1917. The studio was recently shortlisted for Studio of the Year at the Global Production Awards 2026.
